SAAP relies on volunteers to meet our shelter partners throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia to transport the dogs and cats we are bringing into SAAP to our partner vet in Northern Kentucky. These transport trips are typically scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays.
Virtual fosters help post available dogs and cats on SAAP social media pages to increase visibility of our available animals and increase adoptions.Help at Adoption Events
Event volunteers help setup for adoption events, provide potty breaks, and talk to potential adopters about SAAP and the available animals.
Transport Boarded Dogs to Adoption Events
Some dogs stay at SAAP’s boarding partners when a foster home is not available. Dogs in boarding need volunteers to pick them up on Saturday mornings, take them to adoption events, and return them to boarding if not adopted. Volunteers are encouraged to take the dogs on walks and spend time with them before or after adoption events.
Fundraising Events
SAAP hosts a variety of fundraising events and relies on volunteers to help plan, set up, and run these events. This includes help soliciting donations and event advertising.
Foster
SAAP animals are fostered in homes until adoption. When you foster with SAAP you pick the type, age, breed, size, how many, and how often you have an animal in your home. If you are interested in fostering with SAAP please complete the application form (located in the drop down menu under “Forms” above) from your computer.
SAAP covers all vet care and medication costs for SAAP animals. SAAP animals will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed prior to coming into a foster home. All dog fosters (unless specified) are heartworm negative and all cats (unless specified) are feline aids and leukemia negative.
Because of the generous donations from our supporters, SAAP is able to provide all supplies needed to care for foster animals including, but not limited to: food, treats, crates, beds, blankets, leashes, collars, and toys.
